Gary Liddle joins Whitby Town
Whitby Town have announced the signing of Gary Liddle on a two-year contract.
The 37-year-old veteran centre-back, who has made over 500 Football League appearances for the likes of Hartlepool United, Notts County, Bradford City, Chesterfield, Carlisle United and Chesterfield.
More recently, he has plyed his trade in the Northern Premier League for South Shields, before leaving for Spennymoor Town in March.
In conjunction with his role on the field, Liddle will become an assistant manager to Seasiders boss Nathan Haslam for the 2024/25 season.
On the signing of Liddle, Haslam said: "I’m delighted to get [Liddle] on board as both a player and by my side as Assistant Manager.
“He knows what it takes to be successful in the Northern Premier League and his leadership, experience and professionalism will be a huge asset for the team."
