Garforth Town feature in special documentary
NPL East Division side Garforth Town have been the subject of a YouTube documentary produced by Polar Norde Films.
First released in April, The short film goes behind the scenes of the West Yorkshire club, exploring what it takes to build success, maintain a fanbase and maximise revenue amidst an increasingly uncertain football landscape.
Adding to match action and insight from some of the club’s most important figures, there is an interesting flashback to the day a true footballing legend stepped onto the hallowed turf to play for them.
Socrates, who made 60 caps for Brazil and featured at two FIFA World Cups, came out of retirement aged 50 and appeared once for the club in a 2-2 draw against Tadcaster Albion in November 2004.
Next season, Paul Marshall’s side will be looking to build on a ninth-place finish, having finised 17 points adrift of the play-offs.
