Gainsborough to visit Football League opposition in FA Cup second round

Gainsborough Trinity have been drawn away at League Two Harrogate Town in the FA Cup second round.

The Holy Blues are the sole Northern Premier League representatives left in this year's competition, and are now just one victory from a potential tie against Premier League opposition.

Russ Wilcox's side booked their place in the second round after a stunning fightback saw them come from three goals down to knock out Step 4 Hednesford Town, also of the NPL, on penalties.

The pair played out an eight-goal thriller at Keys Park - Will Lancaster scoring a last-gasp equaliser to send the tie into extra-time.

The Holy Blues held their nerve in the shootout and will now visit Harrogate in the next round.

Harrogate, who are currently 17th in League Two, produced an upset to knock out big-spending League One side Wrexham 1-0 on Sunday.

Ties will be played between Friday 29 November and Monday 2 December.
