Former Accrington Stanley forward joins Runcorn Linnets

Runcorn Linnets have announced the signing of striker Leslie Adekoya from Northern Premier League side Warrington Rylands.

In making the move to the APEC Taxis Stadium, Leslie links up with younger brother Dean, who recently joined Linnets on a one-month loan from Championship side Stoke City.

The 20-year-old linked up with Rylands in October 2024, becoming one of manager Neil Reynolds' first signings since taking charge.

He went on to score twice in six appearances - including on his debut at home to Mickleover.

A graduate of Accrington's youth system, Adekoya excelled for their Under 18s during the 2021/22 season, scoring 20 goals in 28 appearances.

The talented forward went on to sign professional terms with the club in the summer of 2022, before making his senior debut the following October.

In total, he featured 18 times for Stanley - memorably scoring against then-Premier League side Leeds United in the FA Cup during the 2022/23 season - before leaving the club at the end of the following campaign when his contract expired.
