Five more through the door at Ramsbottom

Ramsbottom United have brought in five more players as their recruitment drive continues ahead of the new season.

Leon Creech, Oscar Radcliffe, Ryan Jennings, Craig Davies and Will Hall have all penned terms at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium.

Creech, 23, played his football at Darwen last season, finishing the campaign as their top scorer. He has also spent time at Lancaster City, Colne and Preston earlier in his career.

Radcliffe, 20, operates primarily as a defender and arrives at the Rams from AFC Blackpool.

The club say they targeted Radcliffe last season, with manager Lee Donafee a long-term admirer of his skills.

Meanwhile, winger Jennings arrives at the club boasting a wealth of experience, having previously featured for Wigan Athletic, Cheltenham Town and Grimsby Town, where he won promotion to League Two with the club.

The 26-year-old spent last season at Widnes and admits he is keen to “hit the ground running” with his new club.

The Rams’ fourth new recruit is Davies, 33, who joins from Barnoldswick. He is the oldest of the new signings, and has an array of previous clubs which includes Morecambe, Stalybridge Celtic, Vauxhall Motors and Warrington Town.

He became manager of Prescot Cables three seasons ago, but decided to continue his playing career rather than hanging up his boots.

Finally, fan favourite Hall makes his return to the club, with the 20-year-old defender returning permanently after enjoying a successful loan spell at the Rams last season.

He returned to parent club Altrincham midway through the campaign, but has now moved onto pastures new with Ramsbottom.

Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Lee Donafee expects further signings to be made as they ramp up preparations ahead of the 2022/23 Pitching In NPL West Division season.
