FC United swoop for experienced Prescot Cables defender

FC United of Manchester have completed the signing of experienced defender Matty Devine from Prescot Cables.

Devine featured over 130 times for Cables, scoring twice.

A key part of the club's promotion-winning squad during the 2023/24 campaign, the left-back now links up with an FC United side pushing for promotion to the National League North.

Confirming his departure, a Prescot Cables statement read: "We are incredibly disappointed that Matty has chosen to leave the club at this crucial stage of the campaign.

"However we thank him for his enormous contribution over the past four seasons."

Devine, who also counts Marine, Nantwich Town and Witton Albion among his former clubs, will be eligible to make his FC United debut against Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.
