Fan favourite defender makes Basford return

Basford United have confirmed that Brad Gascoine has re-joined the club.

The 30-year-old centre-back first joined the Ambers in 2019 and quickly became a fan favourite at Greenwich Avenue.

The towering figure departed the club in 2022 to take up an opportunity with then-National League North side Kettering Town.

Gascoine then moved to Tamworth and helped them win promotion into the National League proper before departing this summer to join NPL East outfit Sherwood Colliery. There, he made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring once.

He will go into contention to make his second debut for Basford United in their next fixture away at Guiseley in the Northern Premier League on Saturday.
