Familiar face returns to Prescot Cables
Andy Scarisbrick has joined Prescot Cables for a second spell as preparations continue ahead of their step up to the Northern Premier League.
Scarisbrick is no stranger to Cables, having been part of their Liverpool Senior Cup-winning side of 2016/17.
He also picked up silverware during his time at Warrington Rylands, winning the FA Vase with the Blues in 2020/21 and helping them to the NPL West Division title the following season.
Scarisbrick started the 2023/24 campaign with Bootle before making the move to NWCFL side Bury at the end of September.
He went on to establish himself as a key figure for the Shakers, who missed out on promotion to the league above after falling to a penalty shoot-out defeat against Wythenshawe Town in the NWCFL play-off final.
Discussing the new arrival, Cables manager Steven Daley said: "I am really pleased to bring Andy back to Cables. He is a great addition to the squad and will add quality to this group of players."
Club director Richard Tigwell said: "I am delighted to welcome back Andy to the club. The name Andy Scarisbrick is synonymous with Prescot Cables after he famously scored in the 2017 Senior Cup Final against Southport.
"Since leaving us, he has become a top, top player in the NPL, having played for some great sides such as Rylands and Marine. He was the best player on the park when we played Bootle last year.
"I know that the fans, like myself, will be excited to see Andy pulling on the Amber & Black of Prescot Cables once again."
Scarisbrick becomes the club's third signing of the summer as they continue to strengthen following their promotion from the NPL West Division.
Former West Didsbury & Chorlton striker Ben Elliott and experienced left-back Michael Carberry have also agreed to join Cables ahead of their move to Step 3.
