Experienced midfielder makes National League loan move

Ashton United have confirmed that Jak McCourt has joined National League North side Warrington Town on an intial three-month loan deal.

McCourt, 29, came through the youth ranks at Leicester City and has played more than 100 games in the Football League for Chesterfield, Northampton Town, Swindon Town, and Barnsley.

After being signed by Sol Campbell at then-Football League club Macclesfield Town, McCourt returned to Chesterfield for two seasons in the National League.

He came up against his new club Warrington Town whilst playing for Warrington Rylands in 2022.

Before his move to Ashton United this season, McCourt was plying his trade at Step 2 for Buxton.
