Ex-Hyde United captain finds new club
Former Hyde United captain Brad Roscoe has joined Northern Premier League champions Radcliffe.
The Tigers recently announced that Roscoe would leave the club after four years of service to embark on a new challenge at a higher level.
The 26-year-old wore the captain's armband for his final two seasons at Hyde and led them to consecutive sixth-placed finishes.
The towering centre-back, who began his career at Preston North End then went on to enjoy spells at Fleetwood Town, AFC Fylde and Buxton, has penned a one-year deal at Radcliffe, with the option to extend.
He becomes the Boro's first summer signing as they continue preparations for life in the National League North, having romped to the Northern Premier League title in 2023/24.
Radcliffe finished 10 points clear at the top of the division after winning 28 of their 40 league games, scoring 103 goals in the process.
Much of the club's early summer business has involved tying down existing members of their first team squad to new and improved deals ahead of their jump to the league above.
"I’m absolutely delighted to be signing for Radcliffe," Roscoe said.
"I’ve played against the club a lot over recent seasons and have seen the progress the club's making each year, on and off the pitch.
"Seeing the appointment of Bernard & Jonno last season and watching them comfortably win the league made it even more of an exciting club to join.
"After hearing about their interest in me, meeting up with the gaffers and talking about the future ambitions of the club, it was a no-brainer for me to sign.
"There’s already a squad full of quality so hopefully I can add to that and help the club push for a successful season in the National League North."
