Duo arrival for Blyth Spartans

Blyth Spartans have announced the arrivals of both Max Storey and Joseph Abrahart ahead of their 2024/25 season opener at Ashton United.

18-year-old promising striker Storey signs on loan from Hartlepool United for the season.

Storey scored 22 goals in 31 games for the Monkey Hangers’ academy last season, and made his first team debut from the bench during their final home game of the season against Dagenham and Redbridge.

He signed his first professional contract with the National League side in May, and will now spend the season at Croft Park.

On signing for Blyth, Storey said: “I think it’s a great opportunity to get first-team football in the men’s game and I’m looking forward to it.”

Also through the door is Joseph Abrahart.

The 24-year-old arrives from South Shields International Academy where he scored six and assisted a further six in 22 appearances last campaign.

Abrahart has also applied his trade in America, having spent a period of his career playing for the Philadelphia Loan Stars in the USL League 2.

“I’m really excited for the opportunity when Nobby and Steve reached out to potentially come here,” Abrahart said.

“I’m really excited for the season and looking forward to what we can achieve.”
