Dean - Park Avenue against FC United "epic"

Bradford Park Avenue update

With the eagerly anticipated playoff final confirmed for Sunday 6th May at the Horsfall Stadium and a 2pm kick off, whoever wins between Bradford (Park Avenue) or FC United of Manchester will be promoted to the Conference North.

However, for Dean, he said: 'It's a remarkable ending,' as both sides have been in the same division since 2007. Nevertheless, the Avenue chairman remembers how, despite his side's early dominance in the fixture, it has changed in the past two years: 'We first met in the 2007-08 season, and from then, we went nine games unbeaten. Now, FC United of Manchester have won their past four against ourselves.' Due to this, Dean, noticed that 'for the first time in four and a half years, we will be in separate divisions from next season.'

Looking back at the season, and how his side have progressed to the Evostik Northern Premier Division Promotion Playoff Final, the Bradford chairman explains his emotions: 'It has been a season of highs and lows. We have had some fantastic moments this season, our 4-0 victory at Chasetown plus the win at Hyde in the FA Cup. But, despite reaching the FA Cup First Round, we, then, lost to AFC Totton. However, we have played some excellent football, whilst, picking up some great results, for example, our previous game, when we won 5-0 against Hednesford Town. On Saturday, we can only concentrate on how we play and it is set up to be a classic match.'

Ahead of the game, Bradford (Park Avenue) finished six points ahead of their opponents on Sunday during the regular season. On the other hand, FC United of Manchester have defeated the West Yorkshire outfit by the same scoreline in their two league fixtures this season; 5-2.
