Dale Pearson joins Dunston

Dunston have completed the signing of versatile Morpeth Town forward Dale Pearson.

He is a strong and potent finisher who can play centrally and out wide.

Pearson will add increased versatility to Chris Swailes’ squad as they continue their push for a play-off spot in the final months
of the season.

So far this term, he has scored five times for Morpeth.

The former Newcastle Benfield, West Allotment Celtic and Blyth Spartans forward was also a key figure in Consett’s promotion-winning campaign which saw them rise to the Pitching In NPL East Division last season.

He scored 67 goals in 84 appearances for the County Durham outfit, which included a goal in the FA Vase Final at Wembley in their defeat to Hebburn Town.

Assistant manager Jon McDonald said: “I had Dale as a young player at West Allotment Celtic, and I have followed his progress over the years and we have always kept in touch.

“He has pace, power and is capable of scoring goals. He will add to an already strong group of players, and he can operate out wide as well as through the middle.”

Pearson could feature in Tuesday night’s Durham County Cup semi-final against Spennymoor Town.
