Clitheroe defender makes Hyde United move

Hyde United have confirmed the signing of highly-rated defender Will Hall from NPL West Division side Clitheroe.

The former Altrincham youngster joined the club in October last year, becoming the first signing of then-manager Danny Caldecott.

He went on to feature 25 times for the Blues as they finished seventh in the division, five points off the play-offs.

A captain at both Clitheroe and another of his former clubs, Ramsbottom United, Hall's arrival continues an already busy few days for the Tigers.

Halifax Town midfielder Ayo Quadri arrived at the Project Solar Stadium on a permanent basis last weekend, following on from Connor Heath and Jordan Scanlon who joined the club midway through June.

Hyde have also confirmed the return of Reece Mellor, who came through their academy but was restricted to just three appearances in all competitions last season due to injury.

They begin their pre-season preparations at home to Championship side Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
