Cleethorpes star leaves to pursue Australia opportunity
Cleethorpes Town winger Harry Lewis has left the club to pursue playing opportunities in Australia, it has been confirmed.
The Scunthorpe Town academy graduate joined the Owls over the summer and has featured 24 times in all competitions this season, scoring four times.
His arrival was a major boost for the club ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, given his successful experience on loan at Northern Premier League side Gainsborough Trinity the previous season.
Lewis departs with Cleethorpes currently 11th in the Pitching In NPL East Division, both 10 points off the play-offs and relegation zone heading into this weekend's fixtures.
A club statement said: "Harry Lewis is currently half way round the world as he departs for an adventure in Australia, where he will be playing football in their new season.
"Harry has been a massive hit since joining in the summer, and a real fan favourite, scoring some fantastic goals including a terrific strike in the derby against Grimsby Borough in the Lincs Cup and a screamer at Brighouse."
