City of Liverpool lose star man to National League North
City of Liverpool forward Elliot Morris has left the club to join National League North side Warrington Town.
Morris made his debut for the Yellows on Tuesday night against Southport in the Liverpool Senior Cup.
His arrival was confirmed by the Step 2 side ahead of their latest midweek kick-off.
Morris has scored 26 goals over the past 12 months, helping the Purps reach the NPL West Division play-off final last season, where they were beaten 2-0 by Prescot Cables.
The 26-year-old, who previously enjoyed a spell at FC United of Manchester, was named in the West Division Team of the Year while he was at Skelmersdale United in 2022/23, and finished as the second-highest goalscorer in the division.
He leaves the Purps second-bottom in the NPL West Division, seven points from safety, after a poor start which has yielded just two wins from their opening 17 league games.
