City of Liverpool appoint new manager
City of Liverpool have unveiled former Prescot Cables boss Kevin Lynch as their new manager.
Lynch replaces Paul McNally, who parted ways with the club after more than two years in charge following a poor run of form which left them second-bottom of the NPL West Division.
The Purps have now turned to former Cables boss Lynch, who spent two years at the club and staved off relegation in his first season in charge.
He remained at the club until February 2023 before stepping down for personal reasons.
Cables have since secured promotion to the Northern Premier League's top division under the guidance of Ste Daley, and are currently sat 10th.
The Purps find themselves four points from safety in the NPL West Division and host Atherton Collieries - the side immediately above them in the league table - in Lynch's first game in charge on Saturday.
