Chasetown appoint new manager
Carl Dickinson has been appointed the new manager of Chasetown.
A highly respected figure within the game, Dickinson replaces Jamie Hawkins following his resignation last week.
Dickinson, a former professional defender, began his career at Stoke City and went on to represent a number of clubs, including Leeds United, Barnsley, Portsmouth, Watford, Port Vale, Notts County and Yeovil Town.
Following his playing career, Dickinson has built a strong reputation in management, most notably guiding Hanley Town to the Midland League Premier Division title during the 2021/22 season.
He has also gained valuable coaching experience within the professional game, further strengthening his credentials for the role.
“We are excited to welcome Carl to Chasetown FC," chairman Steve Jones said.
"He is a manager with clear ambition, strong leadership qualities and a proven track record.
"We believe he is the right person to take the club into the next phase of its growth on the pitch.”
The club have confirmed that Chris Slater and John Birt will remain in interim charge for Saturday's final home game of the season against Congleton Town, having overseen training.
Dickinson, who is expected to officially take charge after that game, will be joined at the club by trusted assistant Kris Scott.
Chasetown are currently 10th in the NPL West Division.
