Champions double in the cup!
EVO-STIK Northern Premier League champions Blyth Spartans completed an historic double on Wednesday night by lifting the Northumberland Senior Cup.
The EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division's champion skipper and super stalwart Robbie Dale is pictured hoisting the silverware aloft at Newcastle United's St James' Park after a 3-2 victory over North Shields.
A crowd of 1478 at the home of the Premier League giants saw Luke Armstrong bag a brace before the break and Jarrett Rivers complete their victory in the 90th minute either side of two late consolation strikes for the Robins from Gareth Bainbridge to ensure a nervy end to the club's final fixture and victory of the championship-winning 2016-17 season.
