Carlton Town sign former Mansfield Town youngster James Matthews
Carlton Town have announced the signing of former Mansfield Town youngster James Matthews.
The player looks set to be a replacement for Ollie Clark, who recently joined Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division side Basford United.
Matthews, 21, impressed joint managers Tommy Brookbanks and Mark Harvey during a behind closed door friendly, resulting in a 3-0 win for the S/East side.
He told the club's website: “I’m really excited to be coming on board, I’m ambitious and looking to challenge for promotion, no messing about, I aim to get straight down to business.
"I was impressed with Tommy and Mark and their drive and ambition and can’t wait to meet the lads and get stuck into pre-season training.”
