Carlton centre back to stay at club
Carlton Town have announced centre back Dan Brown has signed a new deal for the 2023-24 season.
Brown has made 123 appearances for the Millers since signing for the club in 2019. That includes 43 this season - the most of any player in the squad.
This year, he was an important part of the team that managed to avoid relegation to step five.
He also had an exemplary disciplinary record, with only three yellow cards recorded in those 43 games.
Chairman Mick Garton said: “when Tommy (Brookbanks) followed Mark (Harvey) in committing to the club for the forthcoming season, one of the priorities was to secure certain players who are key to building the new look team around and Dan was certainly one at the top of that list.
“He was one of the key reasons we didn’t get relegated and his commitment is everything the club want from a player, I have even found him training on his own at the ground on a non training night when I nipped down to the ground for a meeting recently.”
