Bury winger joins Bradford (Park Avenue)

Bradford (Park Avenue) have announced the signing of Iyrwah Gooden from Bury.

Gooden, 24, made the move to Bury in the summer from Emley AFC where he played a key role in their promotion to the NPL East Division with 23 goals to his name.

The dynamic winger is no stranger to life at this level, bringing a wealth of experience from his time at Warrington Town, Clitheroe, Workington and Worksop Town.

A former Huddersfield Town Academy graduate, Gooden has also featured higher up the football pyramid for the likes of Mansfield Town and Chester.

On his new acquisition, Bradford (Park Avenue) manager Craig Elliott said: "Since coming into BPA, I have been actively looking for wingers that suit my system and the way I like to play. Iyrwah is a player that ticked all my boxes for the criteria of player I wanted in my team.

“I have been trying for a while to bring him in for a few reasons, I feel he is the right age to improve, is Yorkshire-based, and fits in with our budget at BPA. So I am delighted and thankful to the Club and ”Development Fund for supporting this transfer.

“He’s an exciting winger that can score and create goals. This is the type of player I want to bring in for the next phase of improving the team.”

Gooden will go into contention to make his debut in their next fixture away at Cleethorpes Town on Saturday in the Northern Premier League.
