Brig homecoming for Macauley Wilson

Bamber Bridge have announced the return of former captain Macauley Wilson.

The experienced defender previously spent six years at the SFC Stadium and captained the Brig before making the move to NWCFL heavyweights Bury over the summer.

However, his time at the club lasted less than three months, with Bury confirming on Friday that he had left by mutual consent.

He made nine appearances for the Shakers, scoring once against AFC Liverpool.

"I'm so happy to be back at Brig. This is the place I call my second home," Wilson said.

"I can't wait to get started and hopefully kick-start our way back up the league.

"I've missed everyone involved here, and I'm excited to get back out on the pitch."

Bamber Bridge have won just two of their opening eight league games and find themselves 15th in the table.

Wilson could go straight into contention to feature on Tuesday night as Jamie Milligan's side visit Workington.
