Bradford goalkeeper makes permanent Owls move

Bradford City goalkeeper Heath Richardson has joined Cleethorpes Town on a permanent deal.

Richards, 20, joined Cleethorpes on loan from the Bantams in December 2023.

The young shot-stopper went on to make 20 appearances for the Owls, keeping seven clean sheets, and quickly became a fan favourite at the Myenergi Stadium.

Upon the announcement that his contract at Bradford City will not be extended, Richards has decided to link up with Craig Rouse's side on a permanent deal.

Speaking about his new man between the sticks, Rouse said: "We're delighted to welcome Heath to the club.

"He's someone who we enquired about at my previous club about bringing in on loan, but unfortunately at that time, his club couldn't let him leave.

"After speaking with his coaches from that period, it's clear how highly they rated him.

"His first game of the loan spell that he spent here last season was against my previous club and he played brilliantly that day which only cemented what I already thought.

"He's a brilliant young goalkeeper who, in my opinion, will play higher up the football pyramid, hopefully with this club.

"It's our responsibility to guide him and give him an environment which brings out the best in him, and as a management team, we are excited to start working with him."
