Bootle swoop for veteran striker from local rivals
Bootle have announced the signing of Danny Mitchley from City of Liverpool.
The 35-year-old forward boasts a wealth of experience from his time at the likes of Blackpool, Wrexham and Mansfield Town and Altrincham.
He left the Robins in 2013, joining Kendal Town where he netted 26 times in 38 appearances, before signing with Skelmersdale United for yet another fruitful spell where he featured 56 times and scored 35 goals.
Mitchley then departed to his native Liverpool to join Marine in 2015, and enjoyed four seasons at the club, making 178 appearances and scoring 81 goals.
After a spell at Radcliffe and subsequent return to Skelmersdale, he joined City of Liverpool and helped the Purps reach the NPL West Division play-off final last season.
He will go into contention to make his debut for Bootle in their next fixture at home to Mossley in the Northern Premier League on Saturday.
