Belper Town add three new signings
Belper Town have confirmed the signings of Ioan Evans, Jack Thatcher and Larell King ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Evans, 27, joins from Matlock Town, where he made over 100 appearances in three seasons for the Premier Division side.
Belper’s manager Lee Attenborough was eager to sign the centre-back, saying: “He was somebody who was at the very top of my hit list and I first contacted him only two days after our season had finished.”
Right-back Larell King joins from Premier Division side Ilkeston Town and made 22 league appearances for the Robins last season.
“We’ve got another player at a good age who still has plenty of time to improve. He is a humble, hardworking lad who is on top of his footballing abilities,” Attenborough said.
Thatcher arrives from United Counties Division 1 side Dunkirk FC, where he scored 39 goals in 43 games.
The young striker will make a two-division step up, but he has his manager’s confidence.
“He will need time to adjust to the tempo and physicality of this league, but with the right attitude, mentality and a strong pre-season, we are excited for him to show what he can do,” he said.
Belper Town start their pre-season away at Ashby Ivanhoe on 9 July.
