Basford United announce new management team

Basford United have appointed James Jepson as their new manager and Danny Holmes as their assistant manager.

Newly appointed chairman Rudy Funk announced the arrival of the duo following the departure of Steve Kittrick.

Jepson, 42, was most recently the assistant manager at Ilkeston Town, and has previously coached at Retford United, Eastford CFC and Rugby Town.

Born in Nottingham, his father, Paul Jepson, played for the Lions in the late 1980’s, winning the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup during the 1987-88 season, before going on to manage the club in the 1990’s.

Joining him on the coaching staff as assistant manager is Danny Holmes.

A former Port Vale, Burton Albion and Altrincham player, he began his coaching career at Derby County where he managed their U16s, and is a qualified UEFA A Licence coach.

The pair will take charge of their first game this Saturday when Basford United travel to Hyde United as they look to secure their first league victory of the season.
