Basford United stalwart makes move to Belper Town

Basford United have confirmed the departure of Kieran Preston to NPL East Division side Belper Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper arrived at Greenwich Avenue from Bristol Rovers’ youth academy in 2019.

Through the last six seasons, Preston made over 175 appearances for the Lions, including three this season.

Following a request from Preston to play regular football closer to home, he joins up with a Nailers side who sit atop the NPL East Division with four wins from their opening five league games.

Preston’s new side travel to the Dransfield Stadium to take on North Ferriby on September 14, where the experienced shot-stopper could be in line to make his debut.
