Bamber Bridge sign ex-Preston midfielder
Talented midfielder Jack Baxter has joined Northern Premier League side Bamber Bridge.
Baxter, who came through Preston North End's academy at the beginning of his career, had an impressive season with Stafford Rangers last year, making 46 appearances in total.
During his early days at Preston, Baxter enjoyed loan spells away from the club at Step 3 level, as well as with Cork City in Ireland.
Now he will link up with the Brig as they look to mount another promotion challenge following defeat in last season's play-off final against Warrington Town.
“It’s fantastic to be here and sign for the club," Baxter said.
"I played against Bamber Bridge twice last season and you could see what a good footballing side they were, and why they rightly finished so high in the table, narrowly missing out on promotion.
“I know a bit about the club already being a local lad, and it’s great to be playing closer to home.
I’ve heard good things about the club and the manager has explained his plans and ambitions for the forthcoming season. I can’t wait to meet the lads.
“The squad being assembled is a really exciting and talented bunch, and we’ve got to have ambitions to be up there challenging again this season."
