Avro management duo set to step down at end of season

Avro managers Alex Frost and Phil Edghill will be leaving the club at the culmination of this season due to extra work commitments caused by new jobs outside of the club.

The pair were appointed in January 2022 and led the club to a 2nd-place finish in the North West Counties Premier Division in the 22/23 season.

The subsequent playoff victory saw Avro reach Step 4 in the football pyramid for the first time in their history.

Both Frost and Edghill have spoken on the decision, with Frost saying: “it’s a decision I don’t want to take, however one that I have no choice but to make.”

Chairman Rob Fuller expressed his thanks for the duo, stating: “We are very sad that it had come to this, but we will now focus on getting the best possible replacements that we can for them, to allow us to build on the fantastic foundations which they have given us in Step 4 football.”

With six games remaining, Ro find themselves five points behind a playoff place in the extremely competitive Pitching In Northern Premier League - West.

This Saturday they take on Chasetown at The Vestacre Stadium as they aim to make it back-to-back promotions under Edghill and Frost.
