Atherton add two more new signings

Atherton Collieries have announced the arrivals of Calen Gallagher-Allison and Alex Doyle.

Both men join Max Bardsley-Rowe through the door at the Skuna Stadium this week, after the winger joined Dave Chadwick’s side on Monday.

Centre-back Gallagher-Allison arrives from NPL Premier side Lancaster City.

The 21-year-old came through Manchester United’s youth set-up and has also spent time in Burnley’s academy.

On signing for Atherton, Gallagher-Allison said: “It was fantastic to get the deal done. After chats with the manager it became a no-brainer, it’s a great club who I know take care of their own.”

Also signing on at Atherton for the 2024/25 season is Alex Doyle, who arrives from NWCFL side Colne.

The midfielder came through Salford City’s academy and became the first academy graduate to feature for them in the EFL.

He was also a part of the Marine side that reached the FA Cup 3rd round in 2020/21 and achieved promotion to the NPL Premier division the next season.

Last season at Colne, the 23-year-old registered seven goals and over 20 assists in 51 games.
