Ashton United bolster squad with double signing
Ashton United have announced that midfielders George Chmiel and Leon Johnson have joined the club following successful trial periods.

Chmiel arrives having last played for Padiham in the NWCFL. The former Blackburn academy man also spent time on loan at Barnoldswick last season.
Whilst at Rovers’ academy, the 19-year-old made 35 appearances in the U18 Premier League, scoring 12. He also made one appearance in the Premier League 2 during the 2022/23 season.
Also arriving is Leon Johnson, who spent time at Bradford Park Avenue last season.
He made seven NPL appearances last season, including against his new side in a 1-1 draw in February.
Both men will be available on loan to gain experience and game time in order to be match ready for a first team call up when required.
