Ashton midfielder joins Cleethorpes Town
Cleethorpes Town have confirmed the signing of central midfielder Brad Abbott from Ashton United.
The 29-year-old left upon the expiry of his most recent deal, and will join Craig Rouse’s side for the 2024/25 season.
Abbott made 23 Premier Division appearances for Ashton United last season and has made over 100 National League North appearances for Boston United in his career.
Owls manager Rouse commented on the signing, believing that: “He comes to the club with a lot of experience and that will be key to helping some of the younger lads throughout points of the season.
“He’s a winner and will do anything he can to ensure that happens which fits perfectly with us.”
Abbott and his new side start their pre-season with a home game against Beverly Town on July 6.
