Ashington sign former Gateshead duo
Ashington have announced three new signings as they continue preparations for the 2023/24 season.
Defender Kyle Errington and midfielder Ben Franklin, both formerly of National League side Gateshead, have agreed terms with the club.
They'll be joined at Woodhorn Lane by young forward Mason Hardy, who has impressed in pre-season by grabbing goals against Whitley Bay and Bedlington Terriers.
Hardy was released by Carlisle United at the end of last season but has now found a new home at the Colliers, who will feature in the Pitching In NPL East Division next season after their success in the 2022/23 inter-step play-offs.
Manager Ian Skinner's squad has also been bolstered by the return of midfielder Max Emmerson, who has only recently recovered from a serious ACL tear.
Long-serving player Yannick Aziakonou will also remain with the squad as they prepare to host North Shields in the FA Cup extra preliminary round this weekend.
