Another key player leaves City of Liverpool

City of Liverpool have lost another of their key players to National League North side Warrington Town, with left-back Jack Hont following former Purps team-mate Elliot Morris to the Cal.Delivery Stadium.

Hont spent two years at the club, making a total of 90 appearances in all competitions.

Last season, he featured 52 times - more than any other player in the City of Liverpool squad - as they reached the NPL West Division play-off final.

This term, he has played 14 games for the Purps, who recently parted company with Paul McNally.

McNally signed the talented left-back in November 2022, having previously coached the 27-year-old during their time together at another of his former clubs, Skelmersdale United.

Hont has also played for Welsh side Prestatyn Town, Burscough and AFC Liverpool during his career.

His departure is another blow for a City of Liverpool side eight points from safety and on a seven-game losing run following their heavy 4-0 defeat at Hednesford Town over the weekend.
