Wilkinson secures touchline team

Lincoln United manager Sam Wilkinson has been heaping praise on his touchline team after securing their services for the next EVO-STIK League campaign.

Wilkinson, who stepped up in May 2016 as the successor to Dave Frecklington at the EVO-STIK League South's Whites, has wasted no time in securing his management team for season 2018-19 with assistant manager Stuart Reddington, goal-keeping coach Kevin Wright, coach Martin Burnett, physio Luke Treadwell and kitman Steve Churcher all committing to his Ashby Avenue set-up.

Former Lincoln United, Lincoln Moorlands, Grantham Town, Sleaford Town striker Wilkinson, pictured, hailed his staff out in a statement on the club's website on Tuesday announcing the news.

The Whites boss said: “I know all the management team are hungry to continue in their roles and strive for greater success. We try to improve from week to week and year to year. This I think we’ve done, we have progressed since I first took over and we must continue to build on last season and more importantly the last sixteen games. We look forward to season 2018-19 in the EVO-STIK League East."

On Reddington he added: “I’m delighted, in my opinion he’s as good as there is. His knowledge of the game and the league is as good as I’ve worked with throughout my playing and management days.

“His enthusiasm for the club and his ability to get the lads up for training and games is faultless. The way he prepares the players mentally and physically for each game is top draw. He always maintains high standards and wants to improve the players and team. He is a true Lincoln United guy as well, which is always an added bonus.”
