NPL appoints CEO
The Northern Premier League is delighted to announce that its General Manager Angie Firth has been promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
She becomes only the second-ever CEO of the NPL.
Angie has been with the League since 2009 and in that time has overseen a period of great change including the expansion from 62 to 88 clubs, the introduction of the iFAS player registration system, new safeguarding, and medical qualifications and, in 2024, the independent governance review. Over the last 15 years, the workload of the NPL’s officers has seen the Officers’ team grow from three to five.
League chairman Mark Harris commented: "The league has undergone radical changes and is certain to evolve even more over the next 12-24 months as we implement the new NLS Strategy. In her 15 years with the League, Angie has handled an ever-growing workload with positivity and commitment, often foregoing leave to ensure the NPL provides its clubs, FA, and other stakeholders with optimal service. Angie, lives, breathes and sleeps the Northern Premier League and richly deserves her promotion."
Angie Firth thanked the NPL board. "There are significant changes coming for the Northern Premier League and the NLS, starting now and for the next three years initially. To be entrusted with the delivery of new objectives, enhanced levels of governance and the increased exposure for Steps 3 & 4 is a huge honour, and a challenge which I relish. I have a great team around me, officers, and directors alike, and I will do my best to lead from the front as CEO of the Northern Premier League."
