Consett’s management team step down
Consett managerial duo Andy Coyles and Richie Hill have stood down from their positions at the club with immediate effect.
The pair made the decision ahead of Saturday’s home game against Grantham Town.
The Steelmen haven’t tasted victory since a 1-0 win at Lincoln United on September 17.
They are winless in their last six league matches and currently sit 10th in the Pitching In NPL East Division.
Chairman Frank Bell said: “This has come as a surprise to myself and I would like to thank Andy for his considerable efforts over the last four years, during which his conduct, support and commitment have been faultless.
“I would also like to thank Richie, who joined us at the beginning of the season and has been a considerable support to Andy and everyone else at the club since he arrived.
“Both Andy and Richie have conducted themselves in an excellent manner, and myself and the club would like to thank them and wish them the very best for the future."
Goalkeeping coach Ben Cole and physio Gavin Scott will take charge against Grantham as the club begins its search for a permanent successor.
