The veteran striker scored 20 goals in 38 appearances during the 2022/23 season, before injuries derailed his season.
He departed the Yellows at the end of last season after transitioning into a player/assistant manager role.
Purps manager Paul McNally is looking forward to what his new frontman can bring to the side.
He said: “Jamie is a very prolific and experienced striker who is capable of adding more goals to our team.
“When he settles into the side and knows our style of play, we know he can still provide that cutting edge.”
