Promising left-back departs Whitby for National League North

22-year-old left-back Coleby Shepherd has joined South Shields from Whitby Town.

Shepherd has signed a one-year deal with the National League North outfit and joins for an undisclosed fee.

The young left-back joined Whitby in 2020 from Hartlepool United and grew into a regular starter in the Seasiders’ defence, making 37 appearances last season.

Shepherd now links back up with Mariners Head Coach Elliott Dickman, who worked with the left-back in Sunderland’s academy.
