Hyde appoint Jim Gannon as new manager

Hyde United have appointed Stockport County legend Jim Gannon as the club’s new manager.

Gannon, 52, had three spells at Edgeley Park gaining a number of promotions, including 2018/19 when County were promoted back to the National League.

He succeeds Dave McGurk, who resigned earlier this month.

Gannon told the club’s official YouTube channel: “'I'm really pleased to be on board and really appreciate the opportunity Hyde have given me to come on board, it's a great community club and I'm really looking forward to working with the players.

“In the two games I've watched the players have been excellent with fantastic attacking intent and there is
a lot of good experienced players at this level and good young attacking players and I'm looking forward to help them enhance what they do."

More than 25 applications were received for the role, and the former Port Vale and Motherwell man landed the job.

His first game in charge will be Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Morpeth Town.

Hyde have won two of their six league games so far, both wins coming since the departure of McGurk.

They lost 3-2 at Mickleover on Bank Holiday monday.
