Cracknell made over 100 appearances for the Seadogs but was unexpectedly replaced as their number one by former York City shot-stopper Ryan Whitley back in November.
Cracknell, a former Hull City youth player until the age of 20, joined Scarborough in August 2022 and spent two seasons with the National League North side, having previously enjoyed a five-year stint at Harrogate Town.
“I met with Mark Bower, Russ O’Neill and Danny Boshell and they outlined their aims for the club. It was a really exciting opportunity for me, a nice new challenge," he said following the move.
"I cannot wait to get started and be playing a good part in the excellent squad they are assembling."
The news of Cracknell's signing comes days after they announced the departure of two key members of their 2023/24 squad.
Forward Kallan Murphy and midfielder Leigh Whelan have opted against signing a new deal and have instead joined Marine following their promotion to the National League North.
Murphy and Whelan made a combined 83 appearances for the Lions last season - Murphy playing the joint-most of any player in their entire squad.
