Belper Town bring in talented left-back

Belper Town have confirmed the signing of young left-back Paulo Aguas from Spanish third division side Ponferradina.

The 21-year-old returns to the Raygar Stadium after a brief month-long loan spell during the 2022/23 Northern Premier League season when he was part of the Sheffield Wednesday youth setup.

Aguas featured three times on loan at the Nailers, scoring once in his final appearance against Stafford Rangers.

The arrival of Aguas fills a vacancy at full-back that manager Lee Attenborough has been looking to fill, with the club saying that his arrival will add pace, athleticism and good technical ability to the back line.

Aguas could make his second debut for the club when Belper travel to Ashby Ivanhoe on July 9 to begin their pre-season schedule.
