Two new faces at Dunston
Dunston have signed midfielder Luke Carr and talented young forward Jack Maskell.
Carr arrives at the club after spending last season at Northern Alliance champions Newcastle Blue Star.
The 29-year-old has also enjoyed highly successful periods at the likes of Morpeth Town and Consett in recent seasons.
Carr is no stranger to the big occasion, either. He also played in two FA Vase Finals at Wembley Stadium, as well as achieving multiple promotions at various clubs during his time in non-league football.
"I'm very excited to be here. I was close to joining last season, but I opted against it," Carr said.
"Last season at Blue Star was great, it was nice to be enjoying my football again. Before I was at Blue Star, I was at Consett for three seasons where we won promotion from the Northern League and reached the FA Vase Final."
Also making the move to the UTS Stadium is Maskell, who had a fine season last year in the Ebac Northern League Division 2 with Horden.
Manager Jon McDonald said: "Luke is a real technical player, he scores and creates goals. We are delighted to get him, and he adds real quality to an already strong squad.
"Jack is a player that we have been monitoring for the last 18 months. He's an exciting young forward, a great athlete and at only 19 years of age, he's only going to get better.
"Lots of clubs in the region have been after his signature, so naturally we are delighted he has chosen Dunston for the next stage of his journey.
"As a coaching team, we are looking forward to working with Jack this year."
