Ossett United manager Dave Wild resigns

Ossett United have confirmed that manager Dave Wild has left the club.

Wild tended his resignation in the wake of Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Bishop Auckland, with the club currently sat at the foot of the NPL East Division table after a difficult start to the season.

Having taken charge at the beginning of May, the former Mossley, Matlock Town and Runcorn Linnets has seen his side pick up just one win from their 12 league games so far this campaign.

Ossett have conceded a league-high 29 goals during that time and also have the worst attack in the division, scoring just seven times.

The club have confirmed that Ryan Qualter will take charge on an interim basis ahead of Tuesday's home game against Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Taking to social media following news of his departure, Wild said: "There are some fantastic people at the club.

"[This was] not a decision I take lightly and something I don’t like doing, but for me personally it had become an impossible role.

"[I'm] glad I’ve been back in the game, and I’ll be back again for more grey hairs soon."
