Neil Reynolds departs FC United of Manchester
FC United of Manchester have parted company with manager Neil Reynolds after almost six years in charge.
Reynolds, who joined the club in October 2018 following a successful stint at Bamber Bridge, was dismissed following Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Warrington Rylands.
That result leaves FC United in the Northern Premier League's bottom four, with just one win and six points to show from their opening eight league matches.
That solitary win came against Morpeth Town on the opening weekend. Since then, they have also been knocked out of the FA Cup by local rivals Hyde United.
Following confirmation of his departure in the early hours of Wednesday morning, a club statement said: "This decision has been made in the best interests of the club as we aim to improve our performances and results moving forward.
"We would like to place on record our thanks to Neil for his dedication and hard work over the past six years.
"His time at the club has been marked by many memorable moments, and we will take time to reflect on his contributions. We wish Neil every success in his future endeavours."
Under Reynolds' stewardship, FC United won the inaugural Fenix Trophy and have shown an ability to compete at Step 3 level, while operating in what the club describe as a "financially sustainable" way.
Reynolds only signed a new two-year deal with the club in January, taking his time in charge to the end of the 2025/26 season.
FC United have confirmed that Rob Henry and Charlie Ennis will take temporary charge of first team matters until a permanent successor is appointed.
They are next in action at home to Macclesfield on Tuesday 17 September.
