Loughborough Dynamo star departs

Loughborough Dynamo striker Kevin Da Silva Bastos has left the club to join Basford United for an undisclosed fee.

Since joining the Moes back in 2021, Bastos has been in prolific form, bagging 29 goals and 26 assists in 58 appearances.

The 22-year-old, who was voted Fans’ Player of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign, will now join the Southern League side on an 18-month contract.

On the news, Loughborough Dynamo manager Brad Munn said: “Kevin has grown significantly on and off the pitch in the last season and a half with us.

“We took it personally to try and make him understand what it takes to progress and how things appear. I hope he continues to improve week on week and shows a new league what he truly is capable of.”

Co-chairmen Darren Rodgers and Ian Beech added: “We want to thank Kevin for all his efforts. He has been a big part of our squad and has contributed brilliantly with all his goals and assists.

“When Kevin signed his contract early in the 2021/22 season, we were delighted as it gave both us and Kevin long term security for both last season and this season.

“But we were also clear that should interest materialise from a higher division, we wouldn’t stand in Kevin’s way and prevent him from being able to take the opportunity to test himself at a higher level.

“When Basford got in touch, we were happy to enter into negotiations with them. The deal was right for both clubs, and we wish Kevin well for the future.”

Kevin was also voted Fans Player of the Season for the 2021/22 season and has consistently been in the race to be the league’s top scorer in the last two years.
