Bridlington Town welcome veteran forward

Bridlington Town have announced the signing of Michael Coulson from Farsley Celtic.

Coulson, 36, began his career at Scarborough Athletic, before joining the then Championship side Barnsley in 2006, spending four seasons at the Tykes.

After spending time on loan at Grimsby Town during his stay at Barnsley, he made a permanent move to the Mariners in 2010.

Coulson linked up with York City ahead of their return to League Two in the 2012/13 season, scoring on his debut in their League Cup victory over Doncaster Rovers.

He left the Minstermen in 2016 after making 129 appearances and scoring 23 goals.

The Scarborough-born striker subsequently made the move to Scotland to join St Johnstone but returned to his hometown in 2017 to play in the Northern Premier League with the Seadogs.

Most recently, Coulson was plying his trade for National League North side Farsley Celtic but departed the club at the end of the season due to family reasons.

Now he links up with Adrian Costello's Bridlington Town, ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 season.

On the move, Coulson said: "I'm delighted to be signing for Bridlington Town and I can't thank David Naylor [Bridlington Town Supporters Trust Trustee] for assisting in making this happen."

Manager Adrian Costello added: "The work of the supporter's trust can not be underestimated and without their generosity, this signing would not have happened."
